When the club was founded in 1932, it was a gathering of boys and young men with their lives stretching out before them. Death was far removed from their thoughts.

Over seventy years on, time has taken its toll and with the publication of the Sion story, it is fitting that the men who have passed on should be remembered. They are part of the Mount Sion saga. They gave their all in the service of the club and to them a is owed a debt that can be repaid only with our constand rememberance of their contribution to the success story that is Mount Sion. Filled with the spirit of Sion, they created the tradition that inspires and sustains the club to this day.

We celebrate over seventy years of service to the club, county and to the G.A.A. As we do so we remember our absent friends with pride. May those who serve the club today prove worthy of those who are gone, and pledge that the club they created and served will endure and remain true to the ideal and the spirit of service and distinguished Sion since its foundation.

We offer a salute to absent friends.

Ar láimh dheis Dé go raigh siad.
